INFANT- TODDLER EVALUATION CENTER

The UK Infant-Toddler Evaluation Center (ITEC) provides in-depth, transdisciplinary assessments of children, age birth to three years, to determine the individual child's strengths, weaknesses, and service needs. Assessments are done by a qualified team of child development professionals which includes a physician, child development specialist, physical therapist, and speech/language pathologist. A social worker, infant-toddler dietician, audiologist, and occupational therapist are also readily available for consultation.

For Kentucky residents, there is no direct billing or out-of-pocket expense for our evaluations.

COMMUNICATING PARTNERS  
Communicating Partners is a clinical and educational resource center for families and professionals responsible for Late Talking Children.  Its primary mission is to inform parents and professionals of the many successes that parents can have in helping their children socialize and communicate. The center focuses on the essential role that parent-child communication plays in the successful development of children with Autism, PDD, Down Syndrome, Attention disorders and other delaying conditions.

 

  Being Into Downs

A young teen, Sara Greenburg, without DS, was inspired by a neighbor's child to become a friend to people with Down syndrome.  She has a site filled with pictures and information, along with poetry, relavent to Down syndrome and has been very active in her own school and community to improve the lives of people there.
